Lot 247 Nigeria #16, 16b 1d Rose-Red, 1914-1929 King George V Imperium Keyplate Issue, Usage On 2 Postcards to USA & UK

Two black and white picture postcards, one depicting an evening in Aro-Chuko Village in Southern Nigeria (UK) and the other depicting villagers under a cocoa nut tree at Ikoyi (USA). The card to the US is franked with a single die 2 1d, tied by a May 20, 1927 Lagos cancel. The card to the UK has two corner creases, is franked with a single die 1 1d, tied by Proud type D4 Itu cancel, dated November 25, 1924. There is also a Proud type D7 routing cancel for Port Harcourt.

Fine condition overall (one VF and one VG). The value of the cancels in Proud is 3 GBP. The destinations are common, as is the on-cover value of the stamps in Gibbons. The cards themselves have a value of about $15. So, my estimate of the value of these is $20.
