Lot 281 Nigeria #20, 25a 2d Chocolate & 6d Bright Purple & Dull Purple 1921-1932 King George V Imperium Keyplate Issue, Usage On Oversize Registered Cover To Mobile Alabama
A large bank sized registered envelope, sent from Lagos on May 9, 1929 to Mobile Alabama. Franked with a single 2d die 2 chocolate and a die 2 6d bright purple & dull purple, paying 5d postage and 3d registration. London and Washington transit backstamps, and a Mobile receiving backstamp. The usual wrinkles and toning often found on envelopes of this size from this period.
Fine condition overall. The value of the cancel in Proud is nominal. The destination for the cover is of no premium value, but the basic cover is $5. The stamp value on cover is $25. So, my estimate of the value of this cover is $30.
