Lot 282 Nigeria #16b, 23 1d Rose Red & 3d Pale Dull Blue 1921-1932 King George V Imperium Keyplate Issue, Usage On Oversize Registered Cover To Denver Colorado

A large registered envelope, sent from Burutu on March 3, 1932 to Denver, Colorado. Franked with a single 3d pale dull blue and three pairs of 1d rose red die 2 (last stamp damaged). All stamps are tied by Proud type R3 Burutu registry cancel. There are violet handstamps applied by US postal authorities saying "Passed free - US customs" and "Letter Package Collect Ten Cents". These are unusual and of interest. Some edge wrinkles, as is often the case on these larger envelopes.

Fine condition overall. The value of the cancel in Proud is 2 GBP. The destination for the cover is of no premium value, but the basic cover is $5, and the extra markings add $10. The stamp value on cover is $4. So, my estimate of the value of this cover is $21.
