Lot 249 Nigeria #16b 1d Deep Red, 1914-1929 King George V Imperium Keyplate Issue, Usage Postage Due Cover To Germany

1929 cover sent from Lagos to Germany and shortpaid, being franked with a single die 2 deep red script CA stamp, tied by an October 14, 1929 Lagos cancel. There is an octagonal T postage due marking and a blue crayon "35", which indicates the postage due (35 pf). But, no postage due stamp was applied, as Germany did not have postage dues.

VF condition overall. The value of the cancel in Proud is nominal. The destination is slightly better, but probably the most common Western European destination for mail from Nigeria. It should add about $5 in value. The basic cover should be $5, and the fact that it is postage due should add $10, as postage due is much less common. The stamp value is nominal. So, my estimate of the value of this cover is $20.
