Lot 241 Nigeria #15, 2 1/2d Green & 1d Carmine Red, 1914-1929 King George V Imperium Keyplate Issue, Usage On 2 Cover Fronts, One Postage Due, Ahoada and Enugu-Ngwo Cancels

Two cover fronts, one sent to Huddersfield UK, at the 2d rate, and franked with a strip of 4 (one damaged) 1/2d green, and the other sent to Lome, Togo, at the 3d rate, but shortpaid, and franked with just a pair of the 1d carmine. This front was assessed postage due of 20c, but instead of using a postage due stamp, the postal authorities in Lome used a regular overprinted definitive. The 1/2d stamps are die 1 are tied by Proud type D3 Ahoada cancels, dated September 12, 1923. The 1d stamps are tied by . Proud type D2 Enugu-Ngwo cancels dated February 13, 2022.

Fine condition overall. The value of the cancels in Proud is 5 GBP. The fronts have less value than a full cover, but $10 would seem to be reasonable for these.
