A primarily Elizabethan starter collection, which is mounted with hinges. Starts with a few less expensive later Queen Victoria issues and then has sparse coverage of the Edward VII, King George V and George VI periods, all average used. Most stamps from this period are fairly common, with a couple of higher value 2/6d and 5/- seahorses from the later Bradbury Wilkinson printing and re-engraved Waterlow sets.

Pre-decimal Elizabeth is also sparse, with just a few of the later sets from the post 1966 period, one set of low value Wildings with post office training bars, which have been mounted in the spaces for tagged stamps, and one set of the later 2nd De La Rue castles, also used. The early decimal period is also sparse to 1974, and then from 1975 to 1989 is more or less complete, with very little missing for the commemoratives. The regular issue, basic Machins are about 60-70% complete, with the later issues being more complete than the earlier ones. The regionals are about 80-85% complete for the Machins, with a stockpage containing a few extra possible types of the 13p and 31p. Some of these are expensive in Scott and we haven't checked any of these to see if they are the better type or not.

All, in all, this is an ideal starter collection in good, basic albums for someone who wants to start a GB collection and for whom hinging does not bother them.

The total 2017 Scott Catalogue value for both albums is $1,324 USD, which is $1,787 CDN. Our special price for this is just $499 plus taxes and shipping.
