2 fine/very fine used booklet singles of the 1/2d - 1d green - carmine red King George V from the 1914-1929 KGV Imperium Keyplate Issue, SON & cancels with manuscript date.

Identifiable by the trimmed perfs along the bottom, which indicates they came from the bottom of the pane. The 1/2d has a skeleton cancel where the day & month (July 5th)has been added in pen to the 1920 date, the first cancellation of this kind we have offered. The 1d has a SON strike of Lagos double circle with widely spaced letters dated Nov 5 1915.These are far scarcer than seet stamps and with the cancels even scarcer.

Gibbons doesn't list these varieties, so we estimate them at $10. The stamps offered here grade 68 and 80 as follows:
