Lot 385A Canada (C)#35 1c Yellow , 1870-1893 Small Queen Issue, A Fine Used Single, Second Ottawa Printing, SON Strike Of The CPR Westminister-Winnipeg Railway Line On August 5 1895
A fine used single of the 1c yellow from the 1870-1893 Small Queen Issue, second Ottawa printing, SON strike of the CPR Westminister-Winnipeg railway line on August 5 1895.
As Indicated from my online research this was the core railway line servising the Fraser Valley to Winnipeg. Westbound trips were much less common than Eastbound ones. As explained on the description of the previous lot, very few 1c values were cancelled on the trains.
Unitrade doesn't list this variety, so we estimate it at $125. The stamp offered here grades 73 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 35/60
Paper Freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
Cancellation: 8/10
