Lot 318 Canada SC#42 5c Deep Brownish Black Queen Victoria, 1888-1897 Small Queen Issue, A FOG Single, Early 2nd Ottawa Printing, Paper 2O-B, Perf 12, Showing Two Unusual Plate Flaws.

A FOG single of the 5c deep brownish black Queen Victoria from the 1888-1897 Small Queen Issue, early 2nd Ottawa printing, paper 2O-b, perf 12, showing two unusual plate flaws.

The two flaws are; 1) A large dot inside the medallion oval above the C of Cents and 2) musical note flaw in the left margin at medallion center, consisting of a dot, a line & a flag that resembles a dirty fgace musical note. I've never seen either of these varieties on a 5c small Queen.

Unitrade values this at $80, so we estimate it at $200. The stamp offered here grades 70 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 40/70

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 10/10
