A fine unused single of the 1/2c intense black from the 1868-1876 Large Queen Issue, rough porous soft wove paper (FO-l), perf 11.8x12.
This very rare paper is believed to come from the very beginning of the Small Queen Period. I have only ever come across 2 other examples. The mid-Montreal printings are usually on MM-B or other stout papers. Hard to find sound, due to its fragile nature (very susceptible to tears & thinning).
Unitrade values this at $60, so we estimate it at $300. The stamp offered here grades 70 as follows:
