Lot 289 Gibraltar SG#115var 3d Chestnut & Deep Bright Blue KGV & Windsor Castle, 1935 Silver Jubilee Issue, A Very Fine Used Single, Showing A Minor Re-entry & Two Plate Flaws Which May Be Constant

A very fine used single of the 3d chestnut & deep bright blue KGV & Windsor Castle from the 1935 Silver Jubilee Issue, showing a minor re-entry & two plate flaws which may be constant.

The re-entry involves doubling of the upper right radial lines in the value shield. The major plate flaw is a heavy diagonal scratch through the ribbon inding the oak leaves at center top and there is an L-shaped hairline mark framing the 9 of 1910.

Gibbons doesn't list this variety, so we estimate it at $75. The stamp offered here grades 75 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 35/60

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 10/10
