Lot 256 Barbados #162a 2.5d Black & Indigo Nelson Statue, 1907 Nelson Memorial Issue, A Fine Used Single Nice Example Of This Rare Shade

A fine used single of the 2.5d black & indigo Nelson Statue from the 1907 Nelson Memorial Issue nice example of this rare shade. Although listed as indigo, this is a relative description, as the tru colour is more of a dull chalky blue. The normal stamp is listed as bright blue, but is really ultramarine, and is quite a bright colour, very much like all the normal ultramarine stamps of the period. This colour is distinct: it is darker, duller and an entirely different tone from the commob ultramarine. We compared it to other listings online, such as the one currently offered by Albion Stamps. If you Google it, you will see an image, and you will see that ours matches that one.
