Lot 255 Canada #F2d 5c Green, 1875-1896 Registration Issue, A FOG Single, MM-Y Paper, Mid Montreal Printing, Perf 12x11.75, This Is From The Same Printing As The Listed 12x11.5.

A FOG single of the 5c green from the 1875-1896 Registration Issue, MM-y paper, mid Montreal printing, perf 12x11.75, this is from the same printing as the listed 12x11.5.

The rarity is due to the fact that this stamp, prior to May 8 1889 and before 1876, and after 1877 was for foreign usage, so is much scarcer than the 8c in mint condition. There is a very light vertical bend in the right margin, but still fine. Missing from nearly every Canadian collection.

Unitrade values this at $1500. The stamp offered here grades 70 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 50/70

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 10/10

Adjustment for mentioned faults: -10 points.
