Lot 117 United States SC#UX11 1c Blue, 1891 Grant Postcard Issue, A Very Fine Used Postcard, Sent From Rossville, Staten Island, Which Was Not Yet Part Of NYC, Interesting Time Stamp Error
A very fine used postcard of the 1c blue from the 1891 Grant Postcard Issue, sent from Rossville, Staten Island, which was not yet part of NYC, interesting time stamp error.
The post office in NY records the card as received at 10am, while the Pneumatic Carrier recorded it at 11am, indicating that the post office clerk likely forgot to adfance the time wheel on his handstamp.
Scott doesn't list this variety, so we estimate it at $25. The envelope offered here grades VF.
