A beautiful collection, which begins the 1865 1 peso rose carmine on white paper, and then includes a small number of Condor Over Arms Issues from the 1880's. Coverage from there up through the early 1930's is quite sparse, but there are a few of the 1908 Waterlow issues and 1909 National Exposition issues, as well as a few scattered issues up to to 1935, when the collection really gets going, with the 443rd Anniversary of Discovery Of America Issue.
From 1935 to about 1955, the issues are about 65-70% complete. The definitive sets are generally only missing one to 3 stamps, and it is usually the lowest values in the set. From 1955 to 1980 there are very few regular issues missing: just a few souvenir sheets, the 1970-1971 surcharged revenue stamps, and maybe a few other odds and ends. Again, the quality is very nice, with most all the stamps being fresh, well centered and very fine.
Volume 1 contains all the regular issues and volume 2 is all back-of-the book, starting with the airmail issues.
The airmail issues don't really start in earnest until 1938, so the coverage for the first 10 years from 1927 is very sparse, with just a few stamps. Most of the officials are missing, other than one mint no gum black set and one ultramarine set from the Seebeck period (1892-1894). The 1947 and 1964 issued are present though. The only postage dues present are the 1958 numerals. Postal tax is sparse, with about 13 stamps to 1951, and more coverage after that, being 9 stamps to 1957. The Galapagos islands stamps are complete. The back 3 pages have some extra overprints in singles & pairs, and there is a small envelope containing some duplicates.
