Canada #1060var 34c Multicoloured Louis Hebert & Apothecary Objects, 1985 Louis Hebert Issue, 2 VFNH Singles Variegated Green Plants Variety, MF/MF Rolland Paper
2 VFNH singles of the 34c multicoloured Louis Hebert & Apothecary Objects from the 1985 Louis Hebert Issue variegated green plants variety, MF/MF Rolland paper. The green plant sprig is normally solid green throughout. On the variety the green does not fill all of the space allocated to it, and this is NOT due to a shift of the green. The result is considerable white patches in the green, giving the plant a variegated appearance. This is the very first issue to appear on the new Rolland paper. The fluorescence levels on this paper vary very widely, but on this stamp they seem to cluster around the MF-HF range, with the readings on the front and back being more or less the same. It is only used on three issues in 1985, but becomes more prevalent in 1986, and is the default paper used in 1987's issues. By then, we see the full range of fluorescent reactions on the various issues that utilize it.
