Canada #337v/410 1c Violet Brown - 5c Rose Lilac Queen Elizabeth II & Various, 1954-62 Wilding, 1962-67 Cameo & 1962-63 Commemoratives, March 1963 25c Airmail Cover to Pakistan With Superb 5 Stamp Franking

A very fine 25c airmail cover to Pakistan, sent in March 1963. Franked with five different stamps, including 1c Wilding, 4c Cameo (Issued in Febrary 1963), 10c Inuk and Kayak and 2 1962-63 commemorative issues. 1963 Charity seal on the back and Lahore receiving backstamp.

Unusual because:

  • Pakistan was an unusual destination at this time.
  • The 25c airmail rate is less common, as most airmail covers were the 15c rate.
  • A large number of stamps were used to pay the rate, including current commemoratives and both Cameo and Wilding issues. Both are very close to the Cameo issue dates also and are very early in the life of this issue.

Our estimate of the value of this cover based on the above factors is $30. To understand how we have assessed the cover and arrived at this estimate and to gain a broader understanding of postal history collecting, I would suggest you read the article linked here. It should clarify the factors that make covers, and this one in particular scarce, and will help you to understand why we have estimated it at this amount.
