Lot 95 Canada #128i 2c Deep Green King George V, 1911-1928 Admiral Issue, A Fine OG Part Perforate Coil Block of 4, Perforated 8 Vertically, Wet Printing, Rare - Only 550 Blocks Originally Issued!

A fine OG example of the rare part perforate coil block of 4, wet printing, perforated 8 vertically and imperf horizontally. The stamps have the retouched frameline. According to Unitrade, some 2,200 stamps were issued by favour, of this printing. Given that they are typically collected in pairs or blocks of 4, this means a maximum of 1,100 pairs or 550 blocks of 4 originally existed, making it one of the most elusive regularly issued items of 20th century Canadian philately. Indeed, it is almost never present in any Canadian collection we see. 2023 Unitrade catalog value is $400. The block offered here grades 70 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 40/70

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5
