A very good used example of the 10c on 30c claret from the 1880 Surcharge Issue, slight thinning along LL corner, but very scarce type M. The key characteristics that identify this as type M are: 1) The 'o' is narrow as type e, j and k, as well as m, but unlike the other three the 'o' is raised slightly above the bottom of the '1'. Type k and e have the 'o' level with the bottom of the 1, which type j has it dropped slightly, and 2) the 1 has a curved serif and thin foot as type m & e, but we know it isn't type e because to 'o' is slightly raised. 2022 Scott Classic Cat. $1,100.
