Lot 69 Canada #8 1/2d Rose Queen Victoria, 1852-1857 Pence Issue, A Regummed Ungraded Single Regummed and Rebacked Over A Horizontal Tear & Thin, Looks Fine

Lot 69 Canada #8 1/2d Rose Queen Victoria, 1852-1857 Pence Issue, A Regummed Ungraded Single Regummed and Rebacked Over A Horizontal Tear & Thin, Looks Fine

A regummed ungraded single of the 1/2d rose Queen Victoria from the 1852-1857 Pence Issue, which looks fine and first glance and looks like it has NH gum, which is odd for a used stamp. But then when held up to backlighting it becomes apparent that the stamp was thinned and has been professionally re-backed and then regummed. The rebacking also repaired a fairly long horizontal tear at the top left. The stamp does not look damaged though and actually looks quite nice. An ideal spacefiller that does not look like one.

Unitrade values a very good quality stamp at $250, so we're estimating it at $75.
