4 fine/very fine OG singles from the 1949-1953 Semi-Postal issues, 2 from the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe issue, the owl and cogwheel issue & one from the August Hermann Francke issue. The Francke stamp doesn't have any gum, and is not counted. Perf 14.

A yellow fluorescent coating was added to all German stamps starting in 1962 with the Mainz issue. Before that, selected issues from the mid 1950's to 1962 can be found both with and without this coating. Scott calls this fluorescent paper, but it is really a form of tagging, because the paper does not natually exist in this state. The comparison picture shows several stamps from the 1961-1964 definitive issue with and without this tagging to show you the difference.
