9 Canada Post official FDC's covering the 1986 John Molson and Locomotives issue. The John Molson stamps are as follows; LF-fl on DF & DF-fl with sparse LF fibered envelope, LF on DF envelope & UR plate block on LF paper, DF envelope. For the Locomotive stamps, they are; DF envelope combo FDC on HF paper, and 34c, 39c & 68c, all on HF paper, all on DF envelopes.

The commemorative issues from 1986 to 1990 form a fascinating area of study for the collector of modern Canadian issues and are the subject of this week's blog post. You are encouraged to read the post for more information about these issues and specifically about the different papers used in production during this time. For first day covers we have adjusted the Chung catalogue values where covers display unlisted paper varieties not listed specifically by Chung, by taking the premiums inherent in the Unitrade values of these varieties, and applying them to the Chung prices. As the envelopes are an integral component of an official first day cover released by Canada post, we have described the envelope fluorescence as well, and would note that we have seen some interesting variations in otherwise identical appearing envelopes.
