Three VF and one VG 3c covers, all franked with Montreal or second Ottawa printings. The Montreal printings include a perf. 11.5 x 12 on a tattered VG cover from Toronto to Frankford, ON, the stamp being tied by a November 4, 1875 Toronto circular grid duplex. Then there is a perf. 12 late Montreal printing on an 1887 cover from Toronto to New York, the stamp tied with a barred “1” Toronto duplex cancel. This cover has a New York receiving backstamp.
The two second Ottawa period covers are fine and VF and both franked with vermilion shades. The VF cover is to Coteau Landing from Montreal and has an Italic blue business corner card. The stamp being tied by a Montreal CDS cancel that does not contain the year. The fine cover is sent from Montreal to Stanbridge East and the stamp is tied by a Bickerdike Flag cancel.
Unitrade cat. for all covers in fine condition is $50, but adjusting for condition our estimate is $30.
