Lot 528 Province of Alberta #AL16c $1 Brown & Black Floral Pattern, 1907 Law Issue, A VG Used Single Significant Downward Shift of Inscriptions & Pin-Perforation

A VG used single of the $1 brown & black Floral Pattern from the 1907 Law Issue. Significant downward shift of inscriptions, and pin perforated. I spoke with the consignor about this, as the perfs looked similar to the normal perf to me and this is what he said about the pin-perforated stamps: "The perfs are the same gage but the shape of the perf is diff. some say more rounded and less deep". I can see this these perfs are quite rounded and less deep in several spots, but not all spots. So, not being an expert on these, I am going to defer to him. He is a dealer, and I am offering it with this as his description.

Van Dam values this at $250 for fine used. In this condition, my estimate of the value would be $125. The stamp offered here grades 56 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 30/60

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 0/10

Cancellation: 6/10
