Lot 513 Canada #340asvar 4c Violet Queen Elizabeth II, 1954-1962 Wilding Issue, A VF Used Single, With Unlisted Fluorescent Purple Ink, DF Horizontal Ribbed Paper
A VF used single of the 4c violet Queen Elizabeth II from the 1954-1962 Wilding Issue. With unlisted fluorescent purple ink, df horizontal ribbed paper. This is the first example of this I have come across. I had considered the possibility that this was a chemically affected changeling. However, the fluorescence is even throughout the ink, which is usually not the case when a stamp has been affected checmically.
Unitrade values this at $5. The stamp offered here grades 74 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 40/60
Paper Freshness: 4/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 4/5
Perforations: 10/10
Cancellation: 6/10
