Lot 50 Canada #1125, 72c CAPEX 1987, Full Philatelic Inscription Pane Used By Eastern Auctions in 2019

A fine used sheet of the 72c multicolored Post Office building from the 1987 CAPEX issue. A full Philatelic inscription pane used by Eastern Auctions on one of their 2019 mailings; 32 years late but still unusual to see a full sheet used like this, and in this conditon. Typical parcel cancels, but struck relatively clearly and lightly.

Unitrade values this at $70.

The commemorative issues from 1986 to 1990 form a fascinating area of study for the collector of modern Canadian issues and are the subject of this week's blog post. You are encouraged to read the post for more information about these issues and specifically about the different papers used in production during this time. For first day covers we have adjusted the Chung catalogue values where covers display unlisted paper varieties not listed specifically by Chung, by taking the premiums inherent in the Unitrade values of these varieties, and applying them to the Chung prices. As the envelopes are an integral component of an official first day cover released by Canada post, we have described the envelope fluorescence as well, and would note that we have seen some interesting variations in otherwise identical appearing envelopes.
