Lot 48 Canada #35 1c Yellow and Pale Yellow Queen Victoria 1870-1897 Small Queen Issue, Triple Usage on Two Covers and a Front, VG to Fine, Winnipeg Squared Circle Precursor, Est. $35

Two VG-F covers and one front, all sent at the 3c rate and all franked with various second Ottawa printings of the 1c yellow. The front is cancelled with clear strikes of February 15, 1892 Winnipeg Squared circle cancel (rarity factor 25 in the Squared Circle handbook as compared to 5-10 for a common cancel). The covers are fine, but for some rough opening on the right side, so we have assessed them as VG-F.
Catalogued at $30 in the Canadian Posted Letter Guide, plus $5 for the precursor cancels on the front gives an estimate of $35 for the three.
