A VFNH single of the 25c stone & multicolored Sugar Maple from the 1977-1982 Medium Value Tree Definitives, showing a significant shift, both upward and to the left, of the brown colour, resulting in buds that are nearly blank. We know that it is the brown that has shifted, as opposed to the black, because the red colour is correctly aligned within the leaves, which indicates that it is just that one colour that has shifted. Included is a normal for comparison. Both are printed on DF/DF-fl paper containing a sparse concentration of LF fibres, being enough to make it appear very slightly brighter than DF, but not enough to be LF.
