Lot 392 Canada #401var 1c Reddish Chocolate Queen Elizabeth II, 1962-1967 Cameo Issue, 2 VFNH Singles On DF & Fluorescent Paper With Grainy Satin Dex Gum
2 VFNH singles of the 1c reddish chocolate Queen Elizabeth II from the 1962-1967 Cameo Issue on DF & fluorescent paper with grainy satin dex gum. The grainy dex gum is from some of the last printings of this issue, right before the stamps were replaced by the Centennial issue stamps. The other value I have seen this gum on so far is the 4c. I call it grainy, because it has a distinct texture, and a duller, satin or eggshell sheen, as opposed to the normal semi-gloss sheen.
Unitrade values this at $0.5 for stamps on DF paper. Our estimate of the value with the fluorescent and DF paper varieties, with the grainy dex gum is $8. The stamps offered here grade 75-80 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 45/70, 50/70
Paper Freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
