Lot 385 The Canada Post 2000 Millennium Collection of Postage Stamps Of The Year
Lot 385 The Canada Post 2000 Millennium Collection of Postage Stamps Of The Year
The Canada Post 2000 millennium collection with 93 pages, a hard cover booklet with two folds. The bilingual pages are filled with details about the stamps issued in the millennium series, with information about the designs and the number of stamps released. with plastic sleeve & single page advertisement. Most of the information in this hardbound book is about Canada's growth and development during the past 100 years, as it approaches the millennium. The stamps are a special printing of the millennium issue, which are incorporated right into the pages and which differ slightly in design from the stamps that were issued to the public in the mimiature sheetlets. The number of collections produced was also quite limited (around 200,000 I believe). Sadly, many have had the pages torn out to harvest the limited edition stamps inside them.
Unitrade values this at $85.
Commencing with 1991, the annual collections contain items in an issue format that was not available anywhere except the annual collection, or in many cases the quarterly packs. These items are therefore much scarcer than the normal stamps and se-tenants. Beginning with 2004, many stamps normally issued in booklet format are represented within these collections by singles that are die cut to shape. Please note that shipping on these is not the $2.50 that appears at checkout. The average shipping on the smaller softcover collections is $6 each within Canada, $11 to the US and $20 internationally, as the collections become hardbound books into the 1980's and 90's you can expect the shipping will average out at $20 within Canada, if we use a flat rate box that will likely hold 2 or three annual collections. Successful bidders are asked to wait until we send them an invoice with the proper shipping charge before they attempt payment. We can also wrap the book and ship it directly to the person you are planning to give it to, along with any notes you wish to have us include. All you have to do is tell us their name and address. These make the perfect gift for established stamp collectors, but also for thise who are interested in owning a piece of Canadian history from the year they were born.
