3 very good/fine used & unused singles from the 1869-1871 Duloz Issue & Postage Dues. forgeries. The Scott numbers range from 23 to J33, and include 23, 37, J33. 2022 Scott Classic cat. $0. Our estimate of the value based on the condition is $5.

As per the notes in Revereend Earee's book, the genuine stamps exhibit the following characteristics: (1) the centre oval contains 48 pearls, while the forgeries contain only 42-43 pearls, (2) There is a continuous white loine separating the pearls from the rest of the design and this is missing in the forgeries, though overinking on some genuine examples results in a line that is broken in places (3) the points of the star are relatively sharp, whereas on the second forgery the star has blunter bottom points, and a very thick outline. Based on this we have determined these to be forgeries. Please note that this is one issue where Scott does NOT note the existence of forgeries.
