VFNH examples of four £1.55 booklets from the 19th Century Women’s Costumes Series, each containing a pane of 10 Machins, consisting of 10 15p stamps. The selvedge is at the left for all but the last booklet, which has it on the right. The selvedge tabs all contain a single extension perf hole, cutting guidemarks and the third booklet has a split arrow marking at the bottom. The panes are all printed on phosphorized paper. All have PVAD gum. The last booklet has a HB cover and HB/HF pane. The others all have HF covers and HB/HF panes, with the first booklet having considerable brownish woodpulp flecks in the cover.
Gibbons Concise cat. £11.40 = $19. The booklets offered grade between VF-75 and VF-84.
