Lot 327 Great Britain SG#FH8-FH11 1987-1988 Set of £1 Booklets From the Sherlock Holmes Series, Panes of 6, All Tabs With Cutting Guidemarks, One With Red Counting Mark, SG. Cat. £11.75 = $19.60 Without the Counting Mark

VFNH examples of all four booklets from the Sherlock Holmes series, containing panes of 6, of the 13p and 18p values. The tabs of all booklets contain remnants of the cutting guidemarks, and all panes are on HB/LF-fl or HF/LF-fl paper, and the covers of the booklets are all HB. All tabs contain a single extension perf. Hole also. In addition, there are some shade variations on the stamps, between booklets, as well as the highlights of the Queen’s bust, on the 18p stamps. On FH10 and 11, the vertical edges of the panes are fully imperf.
FH9 has a red rectangular counting mark on the spine. I’m not sure how often these appear on British Booklets, but here in Canada they are every 50th booklet. But it seems reasonable to suppose that it will either be every 25th, 50th or 100th booklet, so they are significantly scarcer than the booklets without the mark.
Gibbons Concise cat. £11.75= $19.60 without the counting mark, so should be worth more with the mark. The booklets offered grade between VF-75 and VF-84.
