Lot 311 Great Britain SG#FB2 A&B 1977 Group of 2 50p Booklets, Alternating Panes of 8, One With Counting Mark on Cover, Both With Cutting Guidemarks on Tabs, SG. Cat. £7.50 = $12.50
A group of 2 50p booklets, each containing a pane of 8 Machins, with the 1p, 7p and 9p values, arranged alternatively with one booklet having the high values on one side and the other having them on the other. Both panes are tagged with 2 side phosphor bands. The tabs of both panes show remnants of the cutting guidemarks. One booklet has a black rectangular counting mark on the spine. I’m not sure how often these appear on British Booklets, but here in Canada they are every 50th booklet. But it seems reasonable to suppose that it will either be every 25th, 50th or 100th booklet, so they are significantly scarcer than the booklets without the mark. The covers are generally HB under UV and the panes are MF/LF and HF/LF.
Gibbons Concise cat. £7.50 = $12.50, without the counting mark. The booklets offered grade F-70 NH.
