2 VFNH Bileski souvenir cards of the 5c multicoloured Alberta & Newfoundland from the 1964-1966 Emblems Issue autographed by designer Angus Shortt, containing a block of 4 on df-fl & nf-fl paper, with matching floral gummed decals. These were souvenir items produced by Winnipeg dealer Kasimir Bileski when the issue was released. Angus Shortt was the designer of several issues in the early 1960's including the 15c Canada Geese definitive, and this issue. Bileski produced several items with Shortt's signature, including matching sets of plate blocks, and these cards containing a block of 4 of each stamp in the series. The decals included are gummed on the back with DAVAC gum and can be affixed to an album page, should you wish. The NF paper on this issue is every bit as scarce as the fluorescent paper. Most all stamps of this issue were printed on DF1 or DF2 paper. In this lot, the Alberta block is on DF-fl paper, with a sparse concentration of LF fibres, and the Newfoundland issue is on NF-fl paper, containing a very sparse concentration of LF fibres.
Unitrade values this at $2.8 for the basic blocks on DF paper. Our estimate of the value with the stickers and autographed cards is $21. The blocks offered here grade 80-84 as follows:
