Lot 298 Nigeria #107, 188, 191-192, 210 1966-1969 Wildlife Definitives and 1967 Meteorological Day, Combination Usage on Registered Airmail Cover to Czechoslovakia, Net Est. $15

Registered airmail cover sent from Lagos sub office #16 on June 27, 1967 to Prague,
Czechoslovakia. Franked with a single 1/6d World Meteorological Day Issue, plus 6d from the 1961-65 issue, and 3d, 6d and 1/- wildlife definitives, paying 4/- in total, being the 3/3 airmail rate, plus 9d registration fee. The stamps are tied with clear strikes of single circle CDS for "Lagos 16". Very fine.
The Lagos cancellation is very common and has no premium value. The cover value to a common destination is approximately $6 applying Gibbons’ prescribed multiplier of 2 to the Scott value of $2.70 for the sound stamps off cover. Czechoslovakia is a scarcer European destination. So, we estimate the value of the cover, based on the franking, destination and rate to be $15.
