A superb used single of the 3c on 2c deep red King George V from the 1930-1934 Second Postage Due and Arch Issue Arch Issue. Perfection! July 22, 1932 SON RPO cancel, the best one we found after looking over 1,000 examples. We simply had to lot it, even if it only catalogues 25 cents, it is a meaningless value. The vast majority of these stamps are either off centre, have unsightly partial slogan cancels or both. While CDS's are not too hard to find, finding one this perfectly struck on a perfectly centered stamp is extremely difficult. As I said, we went through 1,000 examples of this stamp and some of them did wind up in the other lots. As nice as thise stamps are, this one was simply head and shoulders above the others.

Unitrade value is irrelevant for this quality. Therefore our estimate of the value is $5. The stamp offered here grades 98 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 58/60

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 10/10

Cancellation: 10/10
