Lot 228 Canada #1160, 1181-1182 $1-$2 High Value Definitives, 1988-1992 Mammal and Architecture Issue, Combination Use on Three $3.10 Registered Domestic Covers
Three domestic registered covers, all sent in January, August and September 1991, and all sent at the $3.09 rate. All are franked with the $1 and $2 high values, plus a single of the 10c skunk. The $1 on all three covers are slightly different, through the $2 stamps are similar:
• The August 1991 cover $1 has a brownish grey roof, a thin green header above the door and dotted tan bricks.
• The September 1991 cover has a grey black roof, a thin deeper green header above the door with rounded ends and dotted tan bricks.
• The February 1991 cover has a grey black roof, a thin green header above the door with squared ends and dotted tan bricks. The $1 on this cover has been creased in the upper right corner.
The $2 stamps are all printed in the richer shade of orange, but have the dot pattern where individual dots can be seen as high as the top of the Canada inscription and the trim on the building is a slightly deeper milky green. Very fine overall. Net est. $15.
The Mammal and Architecture definitive issue is the subject of this week's blog post. You are encouraged to go here to find more information about the paper, shade, gum and fluorescence varieties that are described here, that are not in Unitrade. There you will find all of the information that you need in one place. That post will be published by the end of the day on Friday, December 16, 2022.
