A VFNH example of the 2d slate gray & deep chestnut from the 1904-1905 King Edward VII Keyplates Issue, multiple Crown CA Wmk, ordinary paper. Head Type B On Type A. Type B on type A is the standard, the 5th line of shading on the cheek shows as a line of dots & the lines of shading up to the hair are broken in places. On head B the 5th line is solid & remaining lines are more or less unbroken. 121,200 were issued over sprintings made between June 1907 - August 1908. There were 7 printings of this issue as follows; April 1904 (1/2d & 2d), May 1904 (1/2d, 2d, 2.5d & 1/-), June 1904 (1d), October 1904 (6d), November 1904 (2d, 2.5d, 4d, 6d, 1/-, 2/6d, 5/-, 10/- & £1), March 1905 (1/2d, 1d) & April 1905 (1d - all booklets). All except one printing of the 2d were head type A, 2017 Gibbons Cat £4.5. Our estimate of the value based on the condition is $12.
