A Note About the Caricature Booklets
The three booklets produced by BABN for this issue are extremely complex. The complexity comes from the fact that:
1. The cover fluorescence levels vary, and cover the entire range from non-fluorescent to hibrite.
2. The panes fluorescence also varies within the same range.
3. The pane widths vary from 70 mm, which is the most common to 76mm.
4. Two different methods were used to seal the booklets. One is a clear, thin bead of sealer, known as clear sealer, which does go brown over time, and the other was a 5mm wide band of brownish adhesive known as self sealer.
5. Ten different cover designs were used.
6. In addition to all the above, many constant and non-constant varieties are to be found on the stamps, as well as different shades for the stamps themselves.
Of all three booklets, BK74, being the 25c vending machine booklet is the most complex by far, followed by the 50c booklet (BK76). The $1 booklet, BK75 is relatively straightforward, by contrast. In our descriptions we are using McCann numbers, as his catalogue provides the most comprehensive listing, but our valuations use a combination of Unitrade and Adminware prices, as well as our estimates based on our judgement and taking into account McCann's prices as they stood in 1996, when his catalogue was last updated.
