Lot 192 Canada #88 2c on 3c Deep Carmine Rose Queen Victoria, 1899 Provisional Issue, Three VF CDS Used Examples, Each With Different Unlisted Plate Marking or Flaw
Three VF CDS used examples of the 2c on 3c carmine Queen Victoria from the 1899 Provisional Issue on vertical wove paper, each showing a different unlisted plate flaw. The first shows a small line eminating from the left "3", or a "hooked 3" . This appears to be cancelled with a September 1, 1899 Hull CDS. The second shows signficant die flaws around the lettering of "Canada". This is cancelld with a portion of the flag cancel. The last stamp shows three guide dots: one on the upper right corner, one at left centre in the margin and one at right, about 3/4 of the way to the top. It has a light 1899 CDS cancel.
