Lot 163 Canada # 50 1/2c Jet Black on White Paper Queen Victoria, 1897 Diamond Jubilee Issue, A Good OG Example, Showing Dot in "9" and Line Under "7" of "1897"

An almost VG but good OG example of the 1/2c black Queen Victoria from the 1897 Diamond Jubilee Issue, printed in the jet black shade on white paper, showing a dot inside the "9" and a line under the "7" of "1897". Fine appearance, but some slight wrinkling and light thinning on the back reduce the grade to good.

Unitrade values the normal stamp at $40 for VG, so good should be worth $20. The stamp offered here grades 50 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 35/70
Paper Freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 0/5 (small wrinkle at top)
Perforations: 10/10, adjustment for light thinning: -10 points
