Lot 159 Canada # 50 1/2c Grey Black on White Paper Queen Victoria, 1897 Diamond Jubilee Issue, A Fine OG Example, Showing Horizontal Line Through "ANA" of "Canada"
A fine OG example of the 1/2c black Queen Victoria from the 1897 Diamond Jubilee Issue, printed in the grey black shade on white paper, and showing a horizontal line through "ANA" of "Canada" and into the left margin. There is some wrinkling at the top and some mild toning of 1 perf that reduces the grade from VF to fine, but still the first example of the half cent I have seen that has this guideline variety.
Unitrade values the normal stamp at $60. The stamp offered here grades 68 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 50/70
Paper Freshness: 3/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
