Lot 127 Morocco Agencies - Spanish Currency SG#141var 10/- Deep Blue King George V and Britannia, 1918-1922 Overprinted De La Rue Sea Horse High Value Issue, A VFOG Example Showing Unlisted "Thick M in Morocco"

A VFOG example of the 10/- deep blue King George V and Britannia from the 1918-1922 Overprinted De La Rue Sea Horse High Value Issue showing unlisted "thick m in Morocco". Although not listed by Gibbons these issues will exist with the same range of shades that are found on the unoverprinted Great Britain stamps, as existing stocks of whichever printing was current would have been used for overprinting at the time the requesition was received by the printer from the Crown Agents. This stamp shows an unusually thick "M" in "Morocco" on the overprint.

Gibbons values this at 95 pounds = approximately $162.45. Our estimate of the net value is $76. The stamp offered here grades 80 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 40/70

Paper Freshness: 5/5
