Lot 125 Canada #1349i, 1350-i/ii, 1352 1c, 2c, 5c Edible Berries Used As Make Up Stamps on 2 Airmail Covers to Pakistan

Two airmail covers sent to Pakistan in 1998 and 1999, each franked with a combination of stamps that include the 1c, 2c and 5c Edible Berries stamps used as make-up stamps. The first, sent in May 1998 is franked with a pair of 43c Commonwealth Games stamps from 1994 and then Ashton Potter Printings of the 2c strawberry and 5c rose hip, making up the 93c airmail rate. The cover is backstamped upon arrival in Lahore. The second cover, sent in February 1999 is franked with 46c Pan Pam Games and Rowing Championships stamps, plus CBN printings of the 1c blueberry and 2c strawberry, making up the 95c airmail rate. Both contemporary, as the Trades definitives were not issued until April 1999.
