Lot 103 Canada #301 10c Drying Furs, 1951-1955 Natural Resources Issue, Combination Usage on 4 Airmail Covers to UK and Germany
Lot 103 Canada #301 10c Drying Furs, 1951-1955 Natural Resources Issue, Combination Usage on 4 Airmail Covers to UK and Germany
Four airmail covers, 2 sent to Germany and two to the UK, each franked with a single of the 10c drying furs, plus either a 5c Caribou from Newfoundland, a 5c Postes-Postage or 5c Karsh stamp to make up the 15c airmail rate. The use of Newfoundland stamps is permitted across the country, but that does not appear to have been universally understood, as the cover to Scotland, which is quite toned, bears a postage due marking. We’re not sure whether or not that call was ultimately reversed, as no postage due stamps were applied in the UK. Two covers have small pieces missing at the tops, but overall fine. Net est. $5.
