A Very Fine 1946 War Issue Airmail Cover From Montreal to Paris, Franked With 10c Parliament Buildings and 20c Corvette Stamps

An attractive and very fine single weight airmail cover, sent from Montreal to Paris in January 1946, a few months after the international airmail service was re-introduced after World War II. The uniform rate to Europe was 30 cents per half ounce. This rate was paid by the addition of 10c Parliament Buildings and 20c Corvette stamps from the War Issue.

The stamps are neatly tied to the envelope with a January 12, 1946 Montreal "Save Time Use Airmail" machine slogan cancel.

A very nice example of this early postwar airmail rate, prior to the reduction of rates. Est. $25.
