Norfolk Island #1-3 (SG1a-3a) 1/2d Orange - 1.5d Green, 1947-1959 Ball Bay Definitive Issue, F-VF NH Mint Examples of the White Paper Printings

Very fine and fine NH examples of the white paper printings of the 1/2d orange, 1d violet and 1.5d green Ball Bay stamps from the 1957-1959 definitive issue.

These stamps were printed by the Reserve Bank of Australia and thus will mirror Australian issues of the period, in terms of the varieties that exist. The printings made before 1956 will all be on toned paper, and so all the values should exist thus. The white papers were introduced in 1956, and given that the next definitive set does not include any values replacing the ones in this set, it is reasonable to conclude that all values of the set should at least exist on white paper also.

Gibbons lists these stamps at $16.75 pounds (approx. $33.50) for VFNH. The stamps offered here grade between 70 and 75 as follows:
