Canada #720, 730 14c Parliament Coil & 30c Sugar Maple, 1977-1982 Floral & Environment Issue, Combination Usage on Shortpaid Overweight Airmail Cover to Lithuania (Then Part of Russia), Sent February 1978

An overweight airmail cover to Lithuania, sent in February 1978, which should have been rated 45c, but for which only 44c was affixed, with the 1c deficiency going unnoticed. The Cyrillic backstamp and lack of other markings indicate that normal delivery occurred.

The 44c is made up of 8c + 2c caricatures, plus 14c parliament coil and 30c Red Oak. The Caricatures are just slightly out of period, though only for the 2c, as no 8c stamps were issued as part of this set.

A nice combination franking to a scarce destination, for an unusual rate. A small portion of the backflap is missing at the top, but otherwise the cover is fine.
