Canada #J13 (SG#D16) 4c Deep Slate Lilac 1933-34 Third Postage Due Brownish Gum VF-84 LH
Canada #J13 (SG#D16) 4c Deep Slate Lilac 1933-34 Third Postage Due Brownish Gum VF-84 LH
A very well centered and very fine mint LH single of the 4c deep slate lilac postage due stamp from the 1933-1934 Third Postage Due Issue. Vertical wove paper with no visible mesh and brownish gum with a satin sheen, suggesting that this is from a printing made between 1933-1934. Unitrade values VF-75 OG single at $25. However, examples that are perfectly centered are seldom seen, due to the narrow margins and line perforation, and our price reflects this fact. The stamp offered here grades VF-84 LH as follows:
Margins/centering: 54/70
Paper freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
Note any vertical or horizontal line shown in the scan is the edge of the acetate strip that the stamp was resting inside on the stockcard.
